“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

LEADERSHIP & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

  • Local & International Leadership Efforts

Members of our team are directly involved in leadership in several national and international organizations that aim to improve our understanding of health disparities, access to evidence-based training for mental health workers, and culturally-responsive healthcare for underserved communities.

  • Advocacy & Policy Statements

We work within professional organizations such as the American Psychological Association and the National Latinx Psychological Association, among others, to advance initiatives and policies that are inclusive of BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ communities. Our work involves consultation and feedback with a variety of stakeholders across topics including on training guidelines for psychologists, recommendations for inclusive language guidelines, and competencies for providers working with trans and gender diverse people.

  • Community & Mentorship

Our work is community driven. We firmly believe in mentoring the next generation of scientists, psychologists, practitioners, and advocates to engage in intersectional practices. Our aims are to support community-led efforts by using our social capital to uplift community voices and perspectives.
