Information for Prospective Students

I am planning on applying to the University of Alberta’s Counselling Psychology programs and would like to work with Dr. Caso? Are they accepting new students?

Thank you for your interest. Dr. Caso is currently accepting incoming doctoral and masters level students for the Fall 2024 admission cycle. Feel free to contact them directly at caso@ualberta.ca.

What type of research does the IREACH Lab engage in?

Our lab’s research and publications focus on minority health disparities, intersectionality, identity-based marginalization within 2SLGBTQ+ BIPOC communities, gender and sexual fluidity, and social determinants of health. We use mixed methods and community-participatory approaches to study experiences of multiply marginalized individuals accessing culturally-responsive care. Our advocacy work utilizes decolonizing pedagogy to deconstruct institutional and systemic barriers to equity and develop community-based interventions for underserved communities.

I am planning on applying to work under the supervision of Dr. Caso, but would like to learn more about their research and students. Where can I find this information.

You can find Dr. Caso’s recent publications and faculty profile here. If you would like to be connected to their students, please email Dr. Caso directly at caso@ualberta.ca.
